Equine Groups and Retreats

You have arrived, you belong.

The aspens are whispering in the wind, the warmth of the sun kisses your head gently, and the smell of apple blossoms generously fills the air. You take that long, deep breath and realize that you have arrived. Prior to arrival at the farm, you may have felt overwhelmed, stuck, unsupported, and undervalued, struggling to find joy. Today, as you engage in mindfulness retreats and explore equine therapy, you will let those thoughts and feelings rest while living in the present moment, surrounded by a circle of support. We invite you to become reenchanted with nature, immersing yourself in wonder and finding a renewed sense of connection. After a day of nurtured rest and reflection, you will leave feeling rejuvenated, valued, and heard, embarking on the journey of living your most authentic life and being true to yourself.

There's always space for you at Gordon's Green Gables

All Rainfall retreats are held at Gordon's Green Gables in Hugo, Minnesota, about 25 minutes outside of the Twin Cities. This center is situated on the traditional land of the Dakota, Sioux, Anishinabe, Chippewa, and Ojibwa peoples. We are part of the Northern Great Lakes Forests bioregion, featuring vast meadows where horses graze in the summer, alongside deciduous and coniferous trees.

Gordon's Green Gables is a space where we empower you to embrace your authentic self through our mindfulness retreats, which include trauma-informed retreats designed to nurture, connect, and transform. Here, you will discover a renewed sense of self and a deeper connection to nature, with the healing presence of Mother Nature supporting you during our equine therapy sessions.

Ongoing Groups and Retreats

Remembering & Returning

Remembering & Returning is a monthly, in-person circle held on the land, offering a grounded and nurturing space to step out of urgency and into embodied presence. Each gathering is guided by the rhythms of the season and the steady, regulating presence of the horses.

Together, we will:

  • Spend intentional time on the land
  • Experience the attuned, grounding presence of horses
  • Engage in gentle, body-centered and reflective practices
  • Gather in community without pressure to share beyond your comfort

No prior experience with horses is needed. All interactions are conducted from the ground in a guided, consent-based practice , and grounded in safety and respect for both people and animals.

This offering is especially supportive for women who:

  • Feel disconnected from their bodies or the natural world
  • Long for slower, more rhythmic ways of being
  • Are therapy-aware and emotionally resourced
  • Seek healing that is experiential, relational, and grounded

Frequently Asked Questions

Be prepared for the weather: bring sunscreen and bug spray for warmer weather and appropriate outerwear during the colder months. A yoga mat and water bottle are encouraged. Please let us know if you do not have a yoga mat at registration so we can have one ready for you. Wear closed-toed shoes for working with the horses.
Most importantly, bring an open heart and an open mind.

We want you to be able to attend! There are partial scholarships available as well as payment plans. Please reach out via email or phone if you are experiencing monetary hardship, but would still like to attend our retreats.

Although most of the ground is flat, there are natural dips and bumps, making wheelchair use limited to certain areas of the grounds. If there are mobility questions, please contact us directly and we will do our best to accommodate your needs so you can enjoy your experience with us.

Gordon's Green Gables is not able to accommodate overnight guests at this time. There are many lovely B&B's in the area that are the perfect complement to our day retreats.

No refunds will be issued unless the event is canceled by the organizer.  In this case you would be refunded or the money could be applied towards the next scheduled retreat. If the weather is severe, you will be contacted by the organizer to determine the next steps.

If you miss the event, the cost of your ticket will be donated to a scholarship fund for those in financial need to attend the next retreat.

We reserve the right to cancel a retreat if less than 5 individuals are registered.

Rainfall Therapy and Equine Retreats

Gordon's Green Gables sits on the traditional land of the Dakota, Sioux, Anishinabe, Chippewa, and Ojibwe peoples. We acknowledge their ancestors who lived in the Hugo area and were forcibly removed from here. Hugo was the summer land of the Dakota people who harvested wild rice from the lakes in this area. Honoring the past, present, and future Indigenous stewards of this land is one small way that we are working to decolonize and spread awareness of historical truths.
