The aspens are whispering in the wind, the warmth of the sun kisses your head gently, and the smell of apple blossoms generously fills the air. You take that long, deep breath and realize that you have arrived. Prior to arrival at the farm, you may have felt overwhelmed, stuck, unsupported, and undervalued, struggling to find joy. Today, as you engage in mindfulness retreats and explore equine therapy, you will let those thoughts and feelings rest while living in the present moment, surrounded by a circle of support. We invite you to become reenchanted with nature, immersing yourself in wonder and finding a renewed sense of connection. After a day of nurtured rest and reflection, you will leave feeling rejuvenated, valued, and heard, embarking on the journey of living your most authentic life and being true to yourself.

A Somatic and Equine Assisted Healing Workshop and Retreat for Helping Professionals.
In the quiet wisdom of the herd, we are invited to return to ourselves.

Join us for this unique experience that combines mindfulness retreats with trauma-informed retreats, offering 3 Minnesota Board of Social Work Continuing Education Hours.

As you immerse yourself in nature and the way of the horse, we will invite you to participate in self-reflection and strengthen your awareness. This is a time for reflection, restoration, and rejuvenation from the daily grind of life, making it an ideal setting for mindfulness retreats. Together, we will create a safe container for you to gain clarity, awareness, and empowerment through equine therapy.
During this one-to-one private session, you can choose to spend a few hours or the whole day with us as we provide a personalized retreat focused on you, ensuring a trauma-informed retreat experience.
No horse riding and no horse experience are required.

This is a six-session program designed for individuals seeking personal growth, with a focus on self-love and the rebirth of self-empowerment. Through equine therapy and a somatic-oriented approach with nature and our equine partners, we will cultivate congruence, authenticity, connection, and safety. This process helps to form healthy behaviors, understand brain responses, and integrate these patterns into daily living, making it a valuable experience for mindfulness retreats and trauma-informed retreats alike.
Each session lasts one hour and occurs once a week, tailored to your schedule.
No horse riding and no prior horse experience are required.

Through somatic (body based) work, trauma informed care, and an attachment based lens, Cimena Gordon (MSW, LICSW) and TaNesha Saxon (MA, LPCC) provide a holistic, integrative approach to your well-being.

Be prepared for the weather: bring sunscreen and bug spray for warmer weather and appropriate outerwear during the colder months. A yoga mat and water bottle are encouraged. Please let us know if you do not have a yoga mat at registration so we can have one ready for you. Wear closed-toed shoes for working with the horses.
Most importantly, bring an open heart and an open mind.

Rainfall Therapy and Equine Retreats
Gordon's Green Gables sits on the traditional land of the Dakota, Sioux, Anishinabe, Chippewa, and Ojibwe peoples. We acknowledge their ancestors who lived in the Hugo area and were forcibly removed from here. Hugo was the summer land of the Dakota people who harvested wild rice from the lakes in this area. Honoring the past, present, and future Indigenous stewards of this land is one small way that we are working to decolonize and spread awareness of historical truths.
